Amakudari

New premier minister of Japan announced war on amakudari practice. I just can see shit that will be getting out of hiding from now on. They’ve been showing investigations reports all day today. With names of actual agencies accused of the practice.

While this can be seen as good, I give the PM 2 months tops. He’ll be eaten alive by worms he’s digging out.

In case you don’t know anything about this – wiki article on amakudari

On the other hand, this means we’ll have more doramas about good vs corrupt politicians. Not sure if it’s good as they tend to be boring a lot. Unless they’ll decide to do it with Kimutaku in the lead role.

Connectivity and people feelings

Some latest events made me doubt my sanity.
So, we have 2 girls. They both are constantly together, living in the same hotel room, going to see things together. Speak about being next to each other 24/7.
One has japanese keitai, another doesn’t. This is important point.
I wanted to meet with the girl without phone, and being polite, asked her to call me when she’ll has time, so we could find the time and everything.
So!
Her: I can’t call you, because I don’t have a phone here, in Japan. But you can call the number of another girl, and I’ll be able to talk with you.
Me: Hm. Hold on, why can’t you call from her phone?
Her: But I don’t have a phone!
Me: So.. um.. I can call this girl’s phone and talk to you but you can’t call me from the same phone?
Her: …

Do I look like stupid? And I’m not even speaking about calling from hotel phone or, for the matter, finding a phone on the street. It’s not like there’re none in Tokyo. Am amused to no end.

Makes me wonder about how easy it become for people not to think of their promises. Quite a sad matter, I think.

Being a fan :)

Renewed my poster wall. Had Diamond tour NewS poster hanging there since March. Got finally tired from their dark host image, and decided it’s time to return to bright things 🙂
Spent whole evening choosing posters. Person hurt in the process? Friend who had me all panicked and unsure with choosing posters.
And here’s the final result, really like how it turned out. Still musing over Kanjuu one though..

My fave Jin poster is now being lonely in Russia and all others I liked from last/this year’s magazines have Ueda/Kame or Ueda/Jin pairings. Am suspecting they’re doing it on purpose.

Oden is here!

I ate half of the bowl before realising I should’ve taken the picture %) therefore – random found one.
2 things I want to tell you:
it’s heavenly

and

if they started to sell oden, winter is close %) doesn’t matter that it was +30 today.

New coat!

The thing that makes me really really happy, is that I’m able to wear beautiful clothes I would never find in Russia.
Back there I had to go to Finland, to get something good. There’s been Seppala in Spb too, but look for nice clothes in my size was a quest. And here, in Japan, where I acquired “I’m fat and ugly” complex, I have almost no problem finding clothes I lilke. AND which fit perfect. And after finding Nissen website I had zero problem with shoes.

Ordered this coat to wear in autumn. In Russia it’d cost me more than 3000 RUR to get one, and this is in case I’d be extremely lucky. This is about $80 by current exchange rate I think. And here it’s 1690 yen = $18. See the difference?

Anyways, my autumn will be bright

Blargh

It’s 4.57 in the morning. I woke up at 4 after almost 2 hours of sleep.
Yesterday, when I decided to add some perfume to the clothes, I accidentally poured half of the bottle on it. It’s small, but anyways. Thankfully no spots were left, but it still smells -_- Have no idea how strong.
And I need to be out in 30 mins.
Today’s filming should take about 5 hours, and luckily today it’s not outside – I’d die to be out in the sun for so long.
Also – thank you so much, Nissen, for delivering my clothes order so fast. Otherwise I would have a lot of trouble with “OL style clothes”. Now I need to make sure I check their next week’s sale too. They have some seriously crazy deals there, for example – leggins for 290 yen O_O And in my size, which is something. Sadly most of the good clothes are only put on sale when they have only 10L size left O_O Which sucks.
Anyways, time for make-up.

24 hour TV

In Japan, there’s special charity TV marathon going on every summer. I was near Nihon TV studio for dorama shooting this week, and got some charity bracelets to support them. They have animal cruelty segment in every marathon, and while I can’t stand watching it, I would like to support the things they do.

So please, if you have time, watch this program and donate. Official site is here: 24 hour TV

And here’re pix of the bracelets:

Ramen

To be frank, I’m not a big fan of hot things. Ramen being in the list, because it’s really hot. I mean – you have to slurp to eat it normally! But I found kind of ramen I can eat literally all the time <3

*roll in drums* Ladies and gentlemen, let me present you with… Hiyashi ramen! It’s cold, and tasty to the point you have to close your mind and make sure you’re still here, on Earth.

Make sure you’ll eat it while it’s still available 😉

Restaurant lunch

As some of you know, I work in traditional japanese restaurant part-time. With all the food I have to cook, isn’t it normal to get a little hungry? 😉 And here’s a pic of my lunch after work:

So, what do I have here:
Tofu salad – extremely yummy with soy sause
Miso soup with wakame and egg straps
Rice – I usually eat it with soy sauce, which makes others shake their heads unapprovingly. Japanese prefer plain white rice 🙂
Sashimi – we were lucky today, because we had some ootoro left
