No more back pain 在宅ワークでさよなら腰痛

緊急事態宣言が解除されて早や3週間

It's already been three weeks since Japan lifted the Covid-19 state of emergency

皆さんのワークスタイルに変化はありましたか?

Has your work life changed since?

もしPCとにらめっこのオフィス仕事でしたらぜひご参考までに。

If you sit on the desk and stare at screen all day for your work, this is for you.

私の職場は4月5月と完全テレワークだったのですが

My company implemented telework in April an May,

今月より3分の2出勤、3分の1在宅になりました。

and this month I am supposed to work at office for 2/3 of the month and at home for the 1/3.

自粛最中の5月にグラン読売ランド前に引っ越してきた私(3月で契約していたのです)

I moved to Oakhouse's Grand Yomiuriland-mae in May, in the middle of quarantine, because I had signed the contract in March

以前居た場所は狭く、壁も非常に薄く、全く集中できる環境ではなかったのですが、

The previous sharehouse I lived in was very small. The walls were super thin, and I could barely focus.

新居で心機一転、私の在宅ワーク環境に革命が起きました。

But at this new place, I witnessed a revolutionary change in my stay-home life.

備え付けの本棚の上にPCと、実家でホコリを被っていたモニターを設置し、

On top of the fancy bookshelf (the room was furnished with it), I set up my laptop and old monitor that was just collecting dust at my parents' home.

立ち仕事に切り替えてからというもの

And completely turned that into a standing desk!

腰痛と肩こりが格段に減り!

Ever since my chronic back pain and stiff shoulder went away  (no pity for this 26 year-old anymore),

お菓子を食べる時に罪悪感をさほど感じなくなりました(ツッコまないでください)!

And I no longer feel guilty when I devour bags of chocolates (I know, don't say anything)!

立つのに疲れたらPCだけにして座ればOK!

If it gets too tiring, I can just sit on the couch (yes, the couch came with the room too) with my laptop.

人間の体というのは、立って歩いて遠くへ移動するように進化したそうです。

Human bodies have evolved to stand and walk a long distance, not to sit all day.

世界でも座っている時間が長い日本人(と日本企業で働く外国人の皆さん!)

Particularly, Japanese people (and you who may be working for Japanese companies!) spend the longest hours sitting every day at work.

吐きそうな肩こりと自分にがっかりするほどの腰痛に悩んでいましたら

If you almost feel nausea from your stiff shoulders (has anyone experienced this too?) and disappointed by how stubborn your back pain is (yea the age doesn't matter),

ぜひお試しあれ!

もし皆さんの家具で手頃なものがなくても、1時間に一回はストレッチしましょう!

Even if there's no equipment that will give you the perfect height for a standing desk, you should set alarms and stretch at least once an hour!

まだまだ先は見えませんが、健康第一でがんばりましょう^^

Despite uncertainties, let's take a good care of ourselves and survive this together :)
